All about animals

To say Selena Young, ’19 B.S., loves animals is an understatement. During her time at the University of Minnesota Crookston, she’s:

  • Ridden horses for the equestrian team
  •  Fed elephants at a sanctuary in Thailand
  •  Studied stress in pregnant goats
  •  Vaccinated cattle
  •  Trimmed sheep hooves

“Working with animals is such a great experience,” says Young, who received the Albert Kopecky Family Scholarship and the Rita A. Meyer and Charles T. Meyer Memorial Scholarship. “You can connect with them on a higher level than you can with people.” The pre-vet student hopes to work in a large equine hospital.
