Pipe dreams do come true

Courtesy of Northrop

On October 12 and 13, Northrop will once again hear the sounds of its Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ when the Minnesota Orchestra, led by Osmo Vänskä and featuring renowned organist Paul Jacobs, celebrates the return of the newly restored instrument with an inaugural concert.

The 1930s-era organ, which has nearly 7,000 pipes, underwent an 18-month, $3.2 million refurbishment. The restoration and reinstallation was made possible in part by an estate gift from the late Roger E. Anderson, ’47 B.S., ’52 M.D.
